Rompiendo estereotipos: La comunidad gitana

20141029_163103

Buscando a Cervantes

20141020_102120

INTENSIVE SESSION

After the first orientation-adaptation week, came the time for the first class: the intensive session. This two-week course is the perfect academic first step before students immerse themselves fully into their definitive semester-long class schedule. The intensive language courses also include out-of-class activities which foster participation and interaction.

PRACTICUM

TDP students have already had their first contact with their practicum school.  The first day of class, they went on a tour to the school and introduced themselves to the professors who are going to tutor them.  Right now, they are in the "class observation" phase, previous to the actual teaching.

We will keep you posted with what is going on with your students in Sevilla.

All the best for the Fall semester from Spain!

Visita a la Maestranza. Grupo 2

For instance, one of the classes visited the bullring, La Maestranza, and after the visit they had to discuss and write an essay about the controversy about bullfighting.

Another group of students went to the cinema to watch the reciently released film El Niño, nominated for the Oscars. As you can see, the cinema is just beside the Sevilla Futbol Club Stadium!

Now, students are settled with their final schedules. Almost 13% of LA participants are taking a direct enrollment class with Spaniards either at Universidad de Sevilla, UPO and EUSA. Staff will follow up closely with them and will offer them a tutor for these classes.

INTEREST GROUPS

99% of the LA participants signed up for one of the four Interest Groups that we offer this semester: Spain and her Regions, Sports and Nature, Sevilla and the Americas and Cultural Expressions. They have already enjoyed some fun activities!
